As part of our continued growth and expansion, we are currently recruiting a Product Support Engineer to join our day shift team.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the role of the Product Support Engineer is a critical position within NHL. The post holder will be responsible for working as part of the Engineering team to ensure all NHL designs and manufacture processes of both new and existing hydraulic cylinders are fulfilled in a correct manner and to work safely and produce quality production in line with NHL operating procedures.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparation of quotations and costings for the hydraulic cylinders
- The design and manufacture process of both new and existing hydraulic cylinders to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
- Reporting issues and potential problems back to our engineering team to help drive product improvements and prevent future problems.
- Assist with the testing and validation of our new products.
- Assist with the development of assembly instructions and training on our products.
- Assist our engineers in developing preventative maintenance programmes.
- Work with the Engineering team on ECO,s ( Engineering Change Order system)
- Coordinate with production, engineering and quality departments to help establish root cause, corrective action & preventive action on the non-conformance system.
- Assist in the review of processes with NHL manufacturing.
- As part of the technical team will be involved in finding solutions to customer issues.
- Offering technical support to customers and employees for product-related issues
- Developing and implementing technical solutions to product-related problems
- Work in line with ISO-9001-2015
- Support our technical team to develop and deliver product training.
- Support Quality Improvement Team (QIT) efforts to rapidly identify and resolve manufacturing, assembly, and design-related issues. ( LEAN)
- Assist our sales and marketing teams
- Support all Health and Safety Policies and Regulations, always ensuring safe working practices.
- Maintaining good customer relationships through excellent service and communication
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures at all times
- Ready to work any other duty if assigned
- Any other duties, within reason & capability, as agreed with management.
Essential Criteria
- Bachelor’s or Graduate’s Degree in Mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Solidworks, 3D drawings systems.
- A collaborator with demonstrated attention to detail.
- Problem-solving and design review skills.
- Proven experience in technical support or a similar role.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with Office 365.
- Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality support.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience with 3D CAD software
- Database management skills
- Experience in a precision engineering environment
- Experience working in a hydraulics setting

- Must be self-motivating with the ability to adapt to complex business situations within a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Hours of Work
Monday – Thursday: 08:00 am to 5:00 pm
Friday: 08:00 am to 2:00 pm
