Capabilities

01

Raw Materials

NHL sources high-quality raw materials, ensuring consistency, durability, and compliance with industry standards forming the foundation for reliable, precision-engineered components.

02

Design Solutions

Our in-house design team offers innovative, custom engineering solutions, using advanced CAD software to transform client concepts into fully manufacturable products.

03

Component Manufacture

Dedicated CNC lathe and milling cells produce high-precision components for cylinder welding and assembly. Lights-out machining and robotic tending boost capacity, consistency, and quality. Components are washed, sealed, and kitted for assembly to maintain maximum cleanliness.

04

CNC Machining

NHL operates dedicated CNC lathe and milling cells for the complete manufacture of tube and rod components used in welding and assembly. Threading, drilling, and deburring are performed in-cycle, with precision measuring and go/no-go gauging ensuring consistent quality. Each cylinder is stamped with part and batch numbers for full traceability throughout production.

05

Welding Process

NHL operate two fully automated robotic weld cells and two semi-automated welding lathes for high-volume production, alongside dedicated manual weld cells for complex builds and prototyping. All welders are coded to ISO 9606-1:2017 standards, with first-off and in-process inspections carried out by experienced engineers to maintain the highest quality.

06

Washing Facilities

Components are cleaned using our bespoke washing facility, then sealed and delivered to assembly in protective kits to ensure maximum cleanliness.

07

Assembly & Testing

Cleanliness and quality are at the heart of our assembly process. Every cylinder is hydraulically tested at 150% of its working pressure and fully complies with ISO 4406 Hydraulic Cleanliness Standards. Our experienced team carries out both first-off and in-process inspections to maintain consistent, high-quality assembly. We are also proud to operate the first advanced testing rig of its kind in the UK and Ireland. This state-of-the-art equipment allows for simultaneous testing of up to four cylinders, accommodates tubing up to 160mm in diameter, and supports the testing of cylinders with open centres up to five meters in length. It operates across a wide range of test pressures, from 20 to 600 bar, and flow rates between 30 and 120 litres per minute.

08

Painting

NHL utilises an Electrostatic and 2K Colour Change System to reduce waste and allow quick, seamless colour transitions. Cylinders are fully cleaned and de-greased before being primed and coated with a high-solid, 2-pack polyurethane finish, then cured in an infra-red oven. Our automated overhead conveyor system maximises throughput, and our new Easybooth expands capacity for cylinders over 2m in length. Paint thickness is closely monitored using calibrated digital gauges, with in-process and final inspections ensuring compliance with customer specifications.

09

Despatch

Cylinders are securely packed using our custom ‘V’ block packing system, designed to provide maximum protection during transit and storage, ensuring products arrive to customers in perfect condition.

10

Stock Holding

Flexible stockholding and inventory management services to support just-in-time delivery and minimise client storage needs.
